Metro Vancouver Cricket League Constitution

TITLE:

1. The League shall be known as The Metropolitan Vancouver  Cricket League (hereinafter called "The League") and shall include, if required, reference to any sponsor(s).and shall operate as a non-profit society duly incorporated in the Province of British Columbia.

PURPOSE:

2. The purposes of The League shall be to:
a. Foster the growth and development of cricket for its member clubs as well as for all the youth and adults in the Metropolitan Vancouver area.
b. To provide, organize, supervise and regulate friendly and sportsmanlike competition among the teams of the member clubs.
c. To ensure that play is conducted within the proper spirit and laws of the game of cricket and the playing rules of the League.
d. To affiliate as necessary on behalf of the member clubs with other appropriate sports governing bodies.
e. To raise funds and acquire such assets as are necessary to accomplish these purposes.
f. To acquire by purchase, lease, license, gift or otherwise to hold as owner, lessee, licensee or otherwise any properties both real and personal, including moneys, as may be considered suitable for the general purposes of the Association and the same to administer, develop, operate, apply and expend for the general purposes of the Association.

3. The purposes of the League shall be carried out without monetary gain or profit to the member clubs and any profits or other accumulation of assets to the League shall be used in promoting its purposes. This provision shall be unalterable.

4. Upon the dissolution of the League, any assets remaining after the payment and satisfaction of the debts and liabilities shall be transferred to an organization having like or similar objectives, or to a recognized charitable organization in the Province or elsewhere in Canada, as directed by the member clubs. This provisions shall be unalterable.
